We are delighted to announce that Professor Simon Frost has now joined the team at ecs.
Simon has worked with applications of composite materials in Exploration and Production environments within the Oil and Gas industry for the past 20 years. He is Technical Director of Engineered Composite Solutions, His main responsibilities are ensuring the technical quality of all aspects of Futurewrap composite repairs, technical advice , support and designing of repairs for ECS’s clients , accreditations, innovation and new developments. Apart from years of experience within the composite industry , Simon also worked with Shell International Exploration and Production providing advice and guidance in the application of the composite materials and ESR Technology working as a technical consultant in the use of composite materials. His visiting professorship was with Newcastle University, Engineering Department.
Previously, he was chairman of 2 ISO committees working on composite materials. The first was composite repairs for pipework. This work was has led to the publication of the ISO technical specification, ISO 24817 – composite repairs for pipework. The second was GRP piping, ISO 14692. This standard was published in 2002 and it use and experiences are currently being reviewed with the aim of publishing a revised version of ISO 14692 within the near future. He is also a member of the PCC-2 Composite repair and PPC – NMR (Non-metallic materials) committees, Simon also works closely with the HSE on Guidance for Composites.
